چکیده
1) As part of the Tropical Rivers Inventory and Assessment Project (TRIAP), a databaseof 94,148 waterbird records was assembled, comprising 82,596 records from the TRIAParea and 11,552 records from a surrounding 10 km buffer. These records were sourcedfrom databases for Atlas1 and Atlas2 provided by Birds Australia, 99.1% of which arefrom the Historical Atlas (pre-1977), the first Field Atlas (1977-1981) or the secondField Atlas (1997-2002). 2) Waterbirds were defined to include species of freshwater and coastal wetlandsincluding in-shore but not off-shore marine species. Identifying suitable habitats for brown bear (Ursus arctos) in northern Zagros forests
Wildlife is an important biological indicator of viability of ecosystems, therefore, understanding habitat requirements of species is essential for biodiversity conservation. Determining the suitability of habitats for wildlife is important for effective management and conservation of species. The brown bear (Ursus arctos), as the largest carnivorous mammal in Iran, is distributed in most fores...
متن کاملThe role of macroinvertebrates for conservation of freshwater systems
Freshwater ecosystems are the most threatened ecosystems worldwide. Argentinian-protected areas have been established mainly to protect vertebrates and plants in terrestrial ecosystems. In order to create a comprehensive biodiverse conservation plan, it is crucial to integrate both aquatic and terrestrial systems and to include macroinvertebrates. Here, we address this topic by proposing priori...
